PARKING
Parking is available at the leisure centre. However, this is fairly limited and will also be used by other users of the
facilities and therefore car sharing is strongly advised. Please follow instructions from car park marshals. In the
event the car park is full you may have to park on nearby roads. In this instance please park legally, safely and
with consideration to residents.
TOILETS
Toilets are available within the leisure centre. Please follow any signage provided and change into clean footwear
prior to entering the building. Note that we do not have use of wider facilities within the leisure centre and please
avoid congregating in the building before or after the race.
COURSE
The race will have a total length of approximately 4.3 miles / 7km and consists of 3.5 laps for all runners. Each
full lap (shown in red on the map) is approx. 1.25 miles with the final partial lap (shown in blue) being approx.
0.6 miles. The course is generally flat but with several short, steep banks to climb and descend. The race starts in
the lower field near the woodland and follows the perimeter of the field in a generally clockwise direction.
The route then climbs a bank towards the fenced hockey pitch to then turn right and travel anti-clockwise around
2 sides of the pitch before continuing up a further bank and travelling clockwise around the upper field. From
the top field the course heads back down two banks and into a section of woodland that is run in a clockwise loop.
Upon exiting the woodland turn left towards the bottom end of the lower field then loop around to the start area to
complete the lap and commence laps 2, 3 and 4. After approximately 0.6 miles on the 4th and final lap at the end
of the short side of the hockey pitch runners will turn left to follow a third (long) side of the hockey pitch for
approximately 70m enter the finish funnel. Marshals and run route signs will give directions. Posts and tape will
mark the key parts of the course perimeter and corners forming a series of gates through which all runners must
pass.
FIRST AID
First aid will be provided by St. John Ambulance
RISK ASSESSMENT
The course is run entirely on fields and a section of woodland with multiple natural hazards that create a risk of
slips or trips. Based on the experience of previous years in is likely that the ground will be very wet, muddy and
slippery. It is strongly advised that all runners wear suitable footwear for the ground conditions such as spikes or
trail shoes with a high level of grip.

OTHER INFO
There may be other events happening at the leisure centre during the race. The race route includes the area around
the hockey and rugby pitches. Please ensure the path accessing the hockey pitch is kept clear at all times and allow
space around the perimeter for any spectators. Be respectful to other leisure centre users and staff.
RACE NUMBER / TIMING CHIPS
No number/chip = no result for you (don't start without one)
Wear the number most recently allocated - if you use an old one you find at home and it's not currently registered
to you, you will not appear in the results
Please make sure you do not hold your hand over your number/chip when you cross the finish line - hold arms to
side or above your head. You may not get registered by the system and the backup video at the finish will not
record your number.
Please do not get close to the timing equipment (finish) once you've been through the finish once. Repeated 'pings'
slow down the results system
Please do not take unused chips (from runners who are not running) close to the finish.... otherwise those not
attending will appear in the results.
